Francesca Caruana

I have been practicing Pilates for over 19 years, and became a certified Pilates instructor as of August 2005 with STOTT Pilates. In 2013 I chose to re-certify and learn through the school of BASI Pilates. Following this training I became a host studio offering the BASI Pilates method for the first time here in Canada at my Rosemère, Québec studio CORPSPilates, which I owned, operated and taught at for seven and a half years. I have since sold that studio and relocated to Chelsea, Québec to be with my family and enjoy the transition to motherhood taking care and loving my children.

I continue to learn and deepen my understanding of Pilates through practice and by attending workshops, conferences and through reading. My passion for the human body led me to study at Concordia University in Exercise Science. I wish to always keep learning and strive to understand more.

As a teenager, I was not the most athletic kid on the block. Extreme instability in my knee and slight scoliosis made me apprehensive to participate in group sports and activities. I longed to get fit and excel at something athletic. At the age of sixteen I met with a personal trainer (Karin Ganter) and, from that point on, a whole new world opened up. It was through my personal trainer’s inspiration, an unfulfilled dream to dance, knee instability and lower back pain that led me into the magical world of Pilates. Thanks to the method of Pilates, I have been able to manage my lower back pain and increase the stability around my knees.

I enjoy working with adults of all fitness levels. It is my goal through a compassionate and patient approach that I can inspire you, educate you and help you reach your own goals. It is my mission to make you feel strong and beautiful, both inside and out.

“When I’m doing Pilates I feel as though I’m dancing. At first, the steps seem complicated and hard to grasp, but through practice and patience something deeper begins to occur. Each time I feel more graceful, more in tune with my body. Each routine I feel stronger, more centered and more fulfilled. I still dream of dancing; only this time, it is on my reformer”.
